PT Kawasan Industri Kendal, a company formed by PT Jababeka Tbk and Sembcorp Development Ltd, will officially be opened by the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Joko Widodo and Singapore Prime Minister, Lee Hsien Loong. The two heads of state are planned to meet at the Peace House Monday morning around 09.00-12.00 WIB, to discuss various cooperation between the two countries, before carrying out its main objective in formalizing the Kendal industrial area. In addition to the President and PM of Singapore, the establishment of the Kendal Industrial Estate will also be attended by 20 ministers from each country. The ministers will later sign economic cooperation in various fields.
PT Jababeka Tbk President Director Budianto Liman said, the inauguration will also be attended by hundreds of entrepreneurs and investors from various companies from several countries. "This area will be inaugurated by the President of the Republic of Indonesia Joko Widodo and Singapore Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong. This Integrated Area is expected to create 15,000 new jobs with an estimated absorption of investment in the initial phase of Rp 20 trillion. We hope that all of the first phase areas of 860 ha can be completed in the next few years so that they can absorb investment of up to Rp 160 - 200 trillion and create jobs of around 500 thousand, "Budianto Liman told reporters on the sidelines of a press conference preparing for the inauguration of the Kendal Industrial Estate at the official residence of the Governor of Central Java on Sunday (11/13). Budianto is optimistic that the Development of Kendal Park by the Bay Industrial Estate will also be able to accelerate the development of the province of Central Java where currently only 5% of the total industry in Indonesia.
"Through the development of this integrated area, we are optimistic that the total number of Indonesian industries built in Central Java will increase from the current position of 5% to around 10% in the next 5 years. This figure is still far from the realization of Indonesia's total industry of 65% located in the Jakarta and surrounding areas. That is one of our commitments through the development of this integrated area, "said Budianto. Keep in mind, the integrated area nicknamed Park by the Bay will be established on an area of 2,700 ha. Currently there are 20 investors who have invested in the Kendal Industrial Estate with a total investment of Rp 4.3 trillion and will absorb as many as 4,000 direct workers.
