Premier Export of a Toy Company from Hong Kong in Kendal Special Economic Zone (SEZ)

Kendal - PT Master Kidz Indonesia, a toy company from Hong Kong, officially started operating in December 2020 at Kendal Industrial Park (KIP). The company has an investment value of USD 9.28 million, and has started the factory construction since October 2019. Currently, PT Master Kidz Indonesia is ready to market its products, in the form of wooden children's toys such as thematic toys for education, toy cars, puzzles, and others.

On Wednesday, January 6, 2021, PT Master Kidz Indonesia held its first export release event. Through the Port of Tanjung Mas, Semarang, this company will export their products to the USA. According to PT Masterkidz, the strategic location of the factory benefits them in terms of logistics. Kendal Industrial Park is only 25 Km to Tanjung Mas Port Semarang and can be reached only in 45 minutes. In addition, KIP is also close to the Kaliwungu Toll Gate with a distance of only 5 Km and can be reached in about 5 minutes. This facilitates logistics routes to both East and West Java.

Andy Chan, President Director of PT Master Kidz Indonesia said, “This is our first investment in Indonesia. We also see great opportunities in Central Java. In addition, KIP also fully supports the process of our business establishment, from the licensing process to operation, until we can start exporting today."

The event was attended by Sucipto, Head of the Semarang Customs A KPPBC Office. Sucipto said that the status of SEZ provides many benefits for business entities, especially in the export-import sector. "As a Special Economic Zone which is currently supported by an Administrator's office inside Kendal Industrial Park, business entities can get assistance in matters of taxation, import, export, and so on. In terms of taxation, incentives are in the form of Tax Holiday, VAT and also Import Duty", said Sucipto.

This event was also attended by the Representative of the Head of the DIY Central Java Customs and Excise Regional Office, Amin Tri Sobri. Amin said, "We hope that the new Kendal Industrial Park status as a Special Economic Zone can help export growth in Central Java." 

Finally, Dany Wong as the General Manager of PT Masker Kidz Indonesia expressed his gratitude to the Ministry of Trade. "We appreciate the Ministry of Trade for helping the Certificate of Origin to come out on time so that it supports the implementation of the inaugural export process to the USA", Dany concluded.
