Kendal – Monday, September 26, 2022, PT Pertagas
Niaga (PTGN) and Kendal Industrial Park (KIP) signed a cooperation agreement for the supply of
natural gas through pipeline clustering within the area. The gas that will be
flowed in this pipe clustering is Compressed Natural Gas (CNG). Later, business
actors or factories within the KIK area will receive CNG supplies from PTGN
through the pipe clustering method.
Aminuddin, President Director of PT Pertagas Niaga
who was also present at the signing ceremony today (26/9) in his speech said
that as part of the Pertamina Gas Subholding, this collaboration was carried
out by Pertagas Niaga in a step to support industrial progress in Central Java
by ensuring the supply of clean energy. which is more environmentally friendly.
"We hope that through this method, gas
distribution to industrial consumers, especially business actors within KIK
will become more efficient and economical. The total volume of CNG that will be
supplied by PTGN in the early stages is 250 mmbtud. Next up in 2023 is 500
mmbtud.” Aminuddin said.
Currently, business actors in KIK who need gas for
their production are still using CNG which is distributed through tank cars.
Therefore, the existence of this CNG Pipe Clustering and CNG station will certainly
provide convenience and a sense of security in terms of the availability of gas
volume. The CNG Cluster is planned to be operational and ready for use in
December 2022 with a total length of 2.9 Km pipes connected within the area.
According to Stanley Ang as President Director of
KIK, in addition to the CNG Cluster which will soon be built, KIK is also
planned to receive natural gas supply in Q3 2023. So that this CNG Cluster will
be used by business actors in KIK during the migration process to natural gas
which will soon be available in the area.
“With this collaboration, we hope that industrial
players in KIK can take advantage of clean energy that is maintained by the
availability of supply volume. This is certainly an important key for the
industry in the smooth operation of their factories. We also hope that the CNG
Cluster construction process will run smoothly and operate according to the
planned time,” concluded Stanley.
Didik Purbadi, the Executive Director of KIK on the
same occasion also expressed his gratitude to several parties who played an
important role in the construction of the Pipe Clustering, such as PT Pertagas
Niaga, the Central Java Provincial Government, and the Kendal Regency
Government.
